House hunting today. Found this beauty…a little out of my price range.
It’s very curious that humans feel the need to mark the ground where they plan to dig.

Word out to Adi squirrel for the heads up.
I’ve often wondered if animals higher off the ground share in the pleasure of earthy odours. The musky decay of forested ground for example, or the dry mystery of a dusty path. There are nature-made smells and others which are foreign, artificial and impossible to name. The earth is rotting and giving life beneath our feet and hundreds of secrets are revealed in the scent…mmm…a wet day changes everything.
Had to marvel at the glorious contours of this appendage yesterday. Lovely lines. The beauty of a branch is that by virtue of it’s relationship with the trunk, it connects you to all the other branches and, in effect, all the other trees, assuming a close proximity such as one might find in this dense grove. After this shot, I hung the camera up and had a good long scramble. So simple. So good.
